Jockey Club ARTISTRY Creative Aging Project Exhibition series in Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre
From 2023 to 2024, OHH Dear Communications toolparticipated for two consecutive years in the Jockey Club ARTISTRY Creative Aging Project, organised by the Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service - Hong Kong (ELCHK) and implemented by ELCHK Essence Hub. The three-year project, which began in 2022, aims to promote and practice “creative aging” through the arts. It connects seniors via artist residencies, helping to alleviate loneliness and encourage creativity.
During the project period, 13 artist units participated, linking 14 elderly service organisations, with over a thousand seniors involved. Phase exhibitions were held in 2023 and 2024, culminating in the “Creative Aging Showcase.” Both exhibitions took place at the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre, with the final exhibition occupying two main galleries, making it one of the few local exhibitions focused on seniors’ artistic creativity and creative ageing.
OHH Dear Communications joined a team led by senior curators, leveraging their experience operating senior creative studios and deep understanding of the elderly community to curate the exhibitions and develop promotional strategies.
Concurrently, OHH Dear Communications, together with design studio miso info design, published 14 issues of the project magazine Try Zine!! over two years, consolidating and presenting the experiences and outcomes of the artist residencies in print form.
