OHH Dear co-organized the “Tong Sui Kitchen with Mr Bean & Ms Sesame” community project alongside Quarryside, a community space in Quarry Bay. Originating from the theme “Ask Granny,” the initiative used traditional Chinese sweet soups as a medium to bridge generations. Seniors shared their homemade sweet soups while engaging community members in meaningful conversations about life stories and everyday matters—connecting different generations through a shared spoonful of sweetness.

As the creative partner, OHH Dear Communications spearheaded the planning, design, and pre-event training. The project’s open call drew an enthusiastic response with nearly 40 applicants. Following interviews, 16 seniors were selected to complete four design thinking-based workshops focused on intergenerational connection. The seniors demonstrated remarkable dedication, achieving high attendance rates across all training modules and public events, with a significant majority reporting a boost in self-confidence.
To extend the project's impact, a concurrent exhibition showcased mini-zines created by the 16 seniors during workshops. Through co-creation exercises, OHH Dear Communications helped capture and document the seniors’ personal sweet soup stories in these booklets for public display.
Spanning four months—with eight sessions held bi-weekly—the interactive stall garnered strong community support. Surveyed visitors noted that the welcoming atmosphere made them significantly more comfortable opening up to strangers, while many felt the event strengthened their sense of connection within the neighborhood. The project also captured broader public interest, receiving media coverage from Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK).
